Disclaimer, Terms & How I Work

Hours are by appointment. All sessions are online.

Who I am (and what I don’t do)

I’m Michael Govers, Analytical & Clinical Hypnotherapist. I’m not a doctor and I don’t diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medication, or advise you to stop prescribed treatment. If you need a diagnosis or medical advice, please speak to your GP/consultant. You can seek a second opinion or change practitioner at any time, and I’ll help you transfer notes if needed.

Your rights: you can refuse hypnotherapy at any time, you have the right to know session length and fees in advance, and you can assert any right without retaliation.

What hypnotherapy is (and isn’t)

Hypnotherapy is a supportive, educational therapy that helps calm the nervous system and change unhelpful patterns. It doesn’t replace medical care and there are no guarantees of outcome—people and problems differ. If you have epilepsy, psychosis, or you’re under mental-health care, please tell me before we start so we can confirm suitability. In an emergency call 999/112.

Sessions, programmes & my 12-session promise

Most analytical programmes run 8–12 weekly sessions (about an hour). I’m so confident in the process that you will never be charged for more than 12 sessions, even if we go over. Lighter, suggestion-based work is usually shorter.

Fees & payment

We’ll agree your fee before we begin. Payment is due at the time of service (BACS/bank transfer; card can be arranged in advance). Fees are reviewed periodically; once we start, your rate is held for at least 12 months.

Cancellations & lateness

Your appointment is reserved exclusively for you. Please give 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule (except genuine emergencies). Late arrivals may reduce session time so we finish on schedule.

Prepaid sessions & packages

The same 24-hour policy applies. Non-emergency no-shows or short-notice cancellations may forfeit a prepaid session. Prepaid sessions are non-refundable, non-transferable, and expire after 12 months.

Confidentiality & records

Your information is confidential and will not be shared without your written permission, except where required by law or to prevent serious harm. You may request access to your notes or a summary of your record.

No guarantees & refunds

It isn’t possible to guarantee human behaviour or compliance, so no outcome guarantees are made or implied and no refunds are given for services provided. Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process: I act as a skilled guide; you agree to engage with the process and follow reasonable guidance. No one can make you do anything against your true will.

Practical checklist for online sessions

  • Find a quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted

  • Use headphones and a stable internet connection

  • Sit somewhere upright and comfortable (not lying in bed)

  • Keep a glass of water handy and switch phones to silent
